A delicious twist on classic spaghetti, layered with cheese and savory meat sauce!
š Ingredients
For the Spaghetti Crust:
6 oz spaghetti
2 tbsp butter
2 eggs
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
For the Cheese Layer:
1 cup ricotta cheese
2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (or 2 tsp dried parsley)
½ tsp dried basil (or 1 tbsp fresh basil)
For the Meat Sauce:
1 lb lean ground beef
½ small onion, diced
14.5 oz canned diced tomatoes, drained
2 cups pasta sauce
For the Topping:
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions:
Preheat & Prep:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Grease a deep-dish pie plate.
Make the Spaghetti Crust:
Cook spaghetti according to package instructions. Drain well and return to the pot.
Stir in butter until melted.
In a small bowl, whisk eggs and Parmesan cheese, then mix into the spaghetti.
Press the spaghetti mixture into the pie plate, forming an even crust.
Prepare the Cheese Layer:
In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, parsley, and basil.
Spread evenly over the spaghetti crust.
Make the Meat Sauce:
In a skillet, cook ground beef and onion until browned. Drain excess fat.
Stir in diced tomatoes and pasta sauce. Simmer for 3-5 minutes until slightly thickened.
Spread meat sauce over the ricotta layer.
Bake & Add Cheese Topping:
Bake for 20-25 minutes.
Remove from oven, sprinkle with mozzarella cheese, and bake 5 more minutes until bubbly.
Serve:
Let cool slightly before slicing. Enjoy warm!
