Spaghetti Pie Recipe

 


A delicious twist on classic spaghetti, layered with cheese and savory meat sauce!

šŸ Ingredients

For the Spaghetti Crust:

  • 6 oz spaghetti

  • 2 tbsp butter

  • 2 eggs

  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

For the Cheese Layer:

  • 1 cup ricotta cheese

  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (or 2 tsp dried parsley)

  • ½ tsp dried basil (or 1 tbsp fresh basil)

For the Meat Sauce:

  • 1 lb lean ground beef

  • ½ small onion, diced

  • 14.5 oz canned diced tomatoes, drained

  • 2 cups pasta sauce

For the Topping:

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions:

  1. Preheat & Prep:

    • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

    • Grease a deep-dish pie plate.

  2. Make the Spaghetti Crust:

    • Cook spaghetti according to package instructions. Drain well and return to the pot.

    • Stir in butter until melted.

    • In a small bowl, whisk eggs and Parmesan cheese, then mix into the spaghetti.

    • Press the spaghetti mixture into the pie plate, forming an even crust.

  3. Prepare the Cheese Layer:

    • In a bowl, mix ricotta cheeseparsley, and basil.

    • Spread evenly over the spaghetti crust.

  4. Make the Meat Sauce:

    • In a skillet, cook ground beef and onion until browned. Drain excess fat.

    • Stir in diced tomatoes and pasta sauce. Simmer for 3-5 minutes until slightly thickened.

    • Spread meat sauce over the ricotta layer.

  5. Bake & Add Cheese Topping:

    • Bake for 20-25 minutes.

    • Remove from oven, sprinkle with mozzarella cheese, and bake 5 more minutes until bubbly.

  6. Serve:

    • Let cool slightly before slicing. Enjoy warm!
